Helping Families Overcome Barriers to Self-Sufficiency
The Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) Program helps employed low-income families overcome immediate barriers to achieving self-sufficiency. This Program helps families meet needs required to accept a job offer or retain a job as well as emergency needs that, if not resolved, could threaten the health, safety or well-being of 1 or more household members. Needs Covered by PRC Funds
Examples of needs covered by PRC funds include:
- Housing-related expenses
- Transportation, such as car repairs
- Work clothing or equipment
PRC Plan
PRC benefits are available throughout Ohio but vary from county to county based on local needs. Each county has a PRC plan that covers services and benefits available and eligibility criteria. Click here for the Clark County PRC Plan (PDF).
To apply for PRC benefits, you can fill out the PRC Application and email a completed, signed copy to CLARK_CHILDCARE_PRC@jfs.ohio.gov.
Service Availability
Services are available to:
- Needy families with a minor child
- Pregnant women
- A non-custodial parent of a minor child, if the parent is cooperating with Child Support Enforcement
