Summer Sky a Bright Spot in August
Family & Children Services Sponsors Family Fun Event in Springfield

Kids and families adopted a brighter outlook on summer by participating in the Family & Children Services sponsored Summer Sky event.
  
Everyone enjoyed a day of summertime fun filled with games and plenty of activities like:
 
  • Pony rides
  • Inflatable moonwalks and slides
  • City of Springfield Fire Dept Safety Trailer
  • Face painting
  • Watching a juggler
  • Making crafts and paper airplanes
  • The Great Springfield Kite Fly by Avetec
  • Visiting animals at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery display
  • Playing carnival games
  • Entering drawings to win prizes
  • Seeing "Hunters of the Sky" from the Glen Helen Raptor Center
  • Visiting some BUGS at the BUGMAN display

 

The event was sponsored by Family & Children Services, a division of Job and Family Services, as a way to build awareness of the need for adoptive and foster care parents and families for many children right here in Clark County.

 
Many stopped by the Parents as Partners (PAP) booth, played Cornhole Toss and won prizes. PAP is a relationship education program which is available to participants at no cost through Child Support Services, a division of Job and Family Services of Clark County.
 
Community partners included: Center City Association, The Heritage Center, Avetec, Clark County Public Library, The Springfield Foundation, Kiss Country 101.7 WKSW-FM, City of Springfield Fire Department, Target, Springfield News Sun, WYSO, and The Springfield Paper.
