Red Roof Inn Returns to Springfield!
The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce was pleased to announce the return of the Red Roof Inn call center. Amy Donahoe, director of hiring and employer services for the Chamber, reported that the Red Roof plans to hire 60-80 employees over the next few months with the average starting wage at $9 an hour.
Barbara Carpenter, recruitment specialist for the WorkPlus One-Stop Center, assisted the Red Roof Inn management team in organizing a hiring event and pre-screening applicants for the new call center. The recruitment efforts included posting open positions through Greater Dayton Works and Ohiomeansjobs.com, (online job portals used by the one-stop center) as well as the one-stop job board.
Amy Donahoe praised Barbara’s efforts and explained, “Red Roof needed someone to assist in getting the ball rolling in finding the right workforce . . . Barb made them feel at ease and developed a great working relationship in the process.”
The call center located on Upper Valley Pike is the company’s only reservation center, and expects to receive 1 million calls in the first 12 months of operation.
