WorkPlus Offers Free Workshops for Job Seekers!

Finding jobs in tough economic times can be frustrating, difficult and stressful. This is what customers are telling the employment specialists at the WorkPlus One-Stop Center! 

In an effort to assist community members with their job search the WorkPlus One-Stop Center in collaboration with agency partners, Jobs & More, OIC of Clark County and Clark State is offering a series of free workshops at the center.  There are many ways to get a job, however taking advantage of the workshops and working with professional employment specialists may ease the frustration and provide better results. Workshops scheduled for 2009 are:
 
Computer Basics Workshop: This workshop is for those with little to no computer experience and/or those who want to work on their keyboarding skills. The workshop is every Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the computer lab at the WorkPlus One-Stop Center. 
 
Interview with Confidence: The two-hour workshop is held every other Tuesday in the Clark conference room at the WorkPlus One-Stop Center from 10 a.m. to noon. Topics covered in the workshop include: 
  • What to do before the interview
  • What to expect at the interview
  • How to demonstrate that you are the best candidate
  • What questions may be asked at the interview
  • What to do after the interview
The Rise Above Workshop:  Informational workshops are held every Wednesday at
9 a.m. in the Clark conference room at the one-stop center. The two week course includes
  • Professional Career Assessments
  • Personality Inventories
  • Decision making/Conflict resolution
  • On-line application and resumes
  • Interview preparation
  • Career coaching
  • Job placement assistance
