Great things have been happening in the Family and Children Services (FCS) visitation program! Recently, we’ve started Family Fun Nights for our children and their parents. These nights have involved our families in a variety of activities from dancing to family portraits. Activities are occurring monthly and registration is growing! Many of our staff members are involved in making these activities successful and fun for the families.

Visitation families have been participating in many of the Project Jericho activities that are offered by the Clark State Performing Arts Center. Families that have participated in these opportunities have enjoyed various art activities from learning about circus acts to making family mosaics! The multitude of activities has given them a chance to learn positive communication skills along with bonding and fun all in one bundle! They are learning how to interact appropriately with one another in addition to learning how to create or access free, low-cost activities that they can plan to do at home or in the community.

As we continue moving forward with the Visitation Program, we are pleased to announce that families who utilize the Gibault Visitation Center will begin having on-site activity therapy. This is an exciting new opportunity for families because it will allow them to work individually with a therapist, as we attempt to provide them with appropriate, hands-on activities while visiting. It also will allow parents and children to develop additional positive interaction skills in their efforts to reunify with their families.

We thank you for your support of the FCS Visitation Program. With your continued support, our community and our families will continue growing as they achieve family self-sufficiency and stability!
