The
Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) program was
established to help families overcome immediate barriers to
self-sufficiency. Services and benefits are for needy and
low-income employed families who need short term help to
support them during a crisis or episode of need. The goal
of PRC services is to meet needs required to allow a person
to accept an offer of employment, retain a job that they
currently have or to satisfy a need which if not met, might
threaten the health, safety or well being of one or more of
the household members.
PRC benefits
are available throughout Ohio but vary from county to county
based on the needs in individual communities. Each county
has a PRC Plan that reflects the services and benefits
available in their own county as well as the eligibility
criteria that they have established.
